To react to my first week of class, I really enjoyed getting to know all my classmates. It's amazing how we all have different stories and different goals. I really enjoyed learning about each other's different experiences in sport and communication. In this same week 1 we talked about blogging in the world of sport and I was able to notice the very large number of sports blogs that exist. I actually used "Barstool Sports" which is for me a complete sports blog and allows you to follow the news of the world of sport. And since that day I have been following all the news that goes on this same blog. In blogs you can see relevant things but also harmful messages filled with hate. This is why blogging should be viewed with some hindsight. This first week was also the creation of my blog site “MyBlock”. I really enjoyed creating it and currently have a lot of fun filling it with a basketball blog. Indeed, after football, basketball is my passion and it is interesting to research the latest league news, the latest rumors etc…. In this week 1 I therefore created my blog and made 3 posts. One on the legendary block of Lebron James, one on the superb strength of the bulls rooster.
Moreover, I did a class blog on the evolution of social media in the world of sports. It is very interesting to see how technological developments have revolutionized the world of sports and its communication. Indeed, image and communication have become a super important element to promote. However, this development has also unleashed a surge of hate on the net, with posts pushing it to create unhappiness and disarray. Indeed, this development has brought positive but also negative in society and the world of sport.
It is difficult to say whether social networks are good or bad for the world of sport. Indeed, they have a lot of positive points in terms of communication, information etc. But however, the impact can be colossal on some Athletes. Indeed we have seen football players being murdered by insults and mockery after some private video was released. The real problem of social networks is that between professional, sports and private life there is only one line. It is therefore very difficult for an athlete to find this right balance. especially since the danger often comes from elsewhere (friends, family, etc.) Conversely, social media can be used to promote and communicate more easily with fans. In the world of sports, social networks mainly allow fans to be closer to their favorite stars.
To conclude, this week 1 to was beneficial in my university studies and I can't wait to attack the week 2. This week made me realize that the world of sports has not always been like that, with networks social and that this is brand new. Indeed, social networks have resized sports in general and give it even greater visibility.
