The pre season started in the NBA. The opportunity to take an exclusive look at last night's games, starting with the Charlotte Hornets.
With LaMelo Ball at the helm, Charlotte only needed a quarter to take the measure of a Thunder formation where Theo Maledon gave up his starting spot to Josh Giddey. The Hornets went 12-0 in two minutes to take a 16-point lead (34-18).
Same penalty for the Thunder in the second quarter. Thanks to Giddey and Lu Dort, OKC stuck to the score (57-45), but the Ball-Hayward duo signed a 10-0 before returning to the locker room (67-45).
After the break, Charlotte is content to manage with a very efficient bench, and it is rookie James Bouknight who finishes the job in "garbage time". The only downside is the calf alert for Kelly Oubre Jr.
Should we be worried about OKC? This is the big question we pause in MyBlock. Indeed, the departure of CP3 last year left a great void which cannot be entirely filled by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. On the Hornets side, everything suggests a superb season in the continuity of the previous one.
